A Galaxy Trucker Gift to Gamers for the Holidays
On December 24, Czech Games Edition will release a free downloadable mini-expansion for Galaxy Trucker on the CGE website. Here’s a peek at what you’ll be getting into if you add this to your game:
| This expansion is designed for experienced Truckers. If you routinely build ships that overcome every obstacle and arrive nearly unscathed, if you shed a nostalgic tear recalling your first flights when your ships were smashed to pieces and you arrived with only a few sad fragments, then this expansion is for you. This expansion puts the kick back into space travel, and it kicks so hard that the tears will be in your eyes once again. |
As for the availability of Galaxy Trucker in the U.S., Petr Murmak at CGE says that Rio Grande Games has some copies from the first print run and will likely start distributing them in January 2008. League of Six, on the other hand, had a smaller print run and is mostly available only through online retailers. CGE is gearing up for second printings of both games in 2008, and the issue of international distribution will be readdressed at that time.

Ooh… sadistic is correct, Larry! I wonder how much of their problems with the new website was caused by folks checking in to catch the free expansion? I know that I hit the site a lot… A lot of people I know think that the game is nasty enough… I wonder if I will be able to talk anyone into giving it a try?
