Age of Exploration Wins Gioco Inedito and Publication by daVinci
![]()
At the Lucca Comics & Games Convention in November 2007, daVinci Games and Lucca Games announced the winner of this year’s Gioco Inedito (Best Unpublished Game): Age of Exploration, by first-time game designer Din Li, who hails from Taiwan.
The daVinci Games website describes the game as “a beautiful and original game of exploration and commerce,” and we’ll all get to see whether the game lives up to that description since one of the rewards for winning is publication. “The award is a cooperation between Lucca Games and daVinci Games, and the game will be published with a joint economic effort of both partners,” says Fabrizio Paoli from Lucca Games. Last year’s winner, Borneo by Paolo Mori, was released in limited quanitites at Spiel ‘07 and sold out in a day.
