Ask Jay: Essen Expectations
Q: Last year I bought the German version of Fiji not realising that I could get an English version from you. Which games released at Essen in 2007 will you have available on your stand in English?
A: I cannot say for certain which Essen games I will have in English at Essen, but I can say which of the Essen games I am doing English versions of.
I expect all these to be available at or shortly after Essen: Carcassonne: Abbey & Mayor, Ming Dynasty, Oregon, In the Year of the Dragon, Cuba, Hambergum, Amyitis, Key Harvest, Mu & Lots More (4 in 1), Zooloretto expansions, Power Grid deck, [a title to be named later], Darjeeling [a new Abacusspiele title by Günter Burkhardt], Bohnanza Fan edition, and Utopia.
Q: Have you ever tried to get some of your games into venues such as museum/zoo gift shops, Discovery Channel stores, etc.? It seems that many of the ones with historical (or animal or railroad) themes would be a great fit for such places.
A: I have tried on a few occasions with very limited success. —Jay Tummelson
