Ask Valley Games: Time to Start Guessing Again…

Q: What other games would you like to see added to the Valley Games printing schedule?

A: I’ve got some old favourites from the past that I would personally like to see added to our printing schedule. Unfortunately, because of the rather competitve market for reprints at the moment, I can’t name names.

I can say, however, that we’ve got a small batch of unannounced reprints still awaiting their turn in the spotlight, and though it may be tough to top games like Titan or Hannibal, there will definitely be some people who will think that we have done so when they hear what else we have coming. It nearly kills me to keep these games a secret, but for the moment, I’ll have to bite my tongue. Keep an eye out for some announcements in the not-too-distant future! —Kevin Nesbitt

REAL Dune....

That would explain why the license is not available to FFG. :) But if they knew VG was making the real Dune, would they bother making a TI3 version of it?

Since they are reprinting Liberte, my guess is that they are also going to be doing Princes of the Renaissance. Ok, this isn’t really a guess, but a wish.

Yep, that’s why its not available.  :)

A PotR reprint would be great.

There are many reasons why old games are OOP. Sometimes it’s because they just aren’t that good to begin with, or they are extremely dated.

What I would like to see is some more NEW innovative “heavier” games like Through the Ages or Indonesia. Something that plays deep, but not like a 20 year old game.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Capitol reprinted.

Busen Memo, obviously.

Edison & Co.  It would kill the resale market, though…

Die Händler might be a good guess. Wolfgang Kramer mentions the possibility of a new edition in an interview on the German website Cliquenabend.

@Dave Chalker: maybe a Nip/Tuck edition?

Those three Fata Morgana Spiele releases that came out of nowhere (and were never rabidly requested in English language versions, to my knowledge) makes me think that those three were acquired in a package deal to publish Hotel Life.

"There are many reasons why old games are OOP. Sometimes it’s because they just aren’t that good to begin with, or they are extremely dated.”

Or sometimes the previous company went out of business. Or they had too much new stuff on their hands to do a reprint themselves (Big City?). Not all out of print games are bad or out dated!

“Two guesses- Die Handler and Union Pacific.”

Union Pacific is to get an updated version with Rio Grande, no?
