Ask Zev: Flight of the B

Q: How successful is the B-Movie series compared to your other games? Did the series’ success allow you to expand your publishing business, or was the expansion due to other factors? We’ve had Sci-Fi/Horror, Japanese Monsters, Blaxplotation, Fantasy, Swashbucklers and now Westerns. What happens next with the B-Movie games?

A: The B-Movie games have been phenomenal for me. They are what is called “evergreen"—that is, they consistently sell year after year. The success of Grave Robbers allowed me to entertain the notion of doing other games. It brought me out of the CCG genre for which the company was started. And I love those games. They make me laugh and I love watching other people laugh along with the cards.

The next B-Movie game we’re doing is going come out this November. It will be a send-up of Christmas movies and the title is Silent...But Deadly Night and it will come in a holiday tin. BTW, the title of these B-Movie games is the hardest part of making this game. Sometimes we spend months coming up with a title.

I have to edit this: We postponed the holiday version until next Christmas. Turns out it takes a lot longer to make tins plus the surprize little gift I wanted to include in the tin. So look for Silent...But Deadly Night next year. This means we will probaby move with Grave Robbers 3 for the summer then the holiday set in November.
