Axiom, Coming Again at Spiel 08

Michael Seal’s mindbending abstract game Axiom is finally set to appear in a new edition, dubbed either Axiom 3000, Magnetic Axiom or New Axiom, at Spiel 08 (booth #4-416).

While the look of the game will differ from the 1988 original – and magnets will hold the pieces in place rather than friction – the object of the game remains the same: Move one of your sceptres onto a cube occupied by an opponent’s piece. At first glance the game appears to be a straightforward abstract, but once the sceptres start sliding around every edge and the cube structure deconstructs and vanishes during game play, you realize just how unique, bizarre and intriguing this game is.

Seal has said that he’ll have two versions available at Spiel, the only place that the game will be available for now other than from Seal directly, and those games will be black-and-white or orange-and-grey. Preorders for pick-up at Spiel or mail delivery are available; write to Michael Seal for more information.
