BGN Game Giveaway Winners for August 2007

One winner in the Boardgame News August game giveaway has still not responded to the glorious promise of a free game, but perhaps this person is traveling or in a self-imposed Internet-denial program. Whatever the case, here are the other winners and the games they have won:

Martinis & Men: A decidely different type of release from TableStar Games, which has made a name for itself recently with its HeroCard series. Martinis & Men is a light party game for up to eight people in which you’re trying to pair the dudes with the lay-dees.

  • Ed Carter
  • George Oryshkewych
  • Susan Rozmiarek

Slide 5: The new version of Wolfgang Kramer’s 6 Nimmt, which was released by Endless Games in September 2007. Bullheads, hurricanes—they’re history as the new way to play is with ski moguls and mounting hills that threaten to crash down upon you.

  • Jason Matthews
  • Scott Nicholson
  • David Reed

First Strike: Designer K.L. Feucht, who has been working on and off on this massive mix of military and economic strategery since the 1980s, has now launched his game of world domination.

  • Jeph Stahl
  • David T. Van Sweden

Murdero: In this murder mystery themed card game, you’re trying to collect sets of crime scene, victim, evidence, suspect, and murder weapon cards, but the number of each type of cards differs, so as you get closer to solving the case, the progress gets tougher.

  • Ben Baldanza
  • Christian Frank
Congrats to all the winners. The drawing for the September game giveaway will take place in just a few days!

My copy of Slide 5 arrived yesterday. While 6 Nimmt! is an old friend, I’m always interested in seeing how the new theming of an old favorite is handled. Congrats to my fellow winners and thanks for having the drawings - it’s icing on the cake!
