Canal Mania Fever
The Ragnar Brothers’ most recent release, Canal Mania, has sold out at the publisher, although copies are likely still floating through the retail system. From the Ragnar Brothers’ website:
| There are no more copies of Canal Mania left of the original 1000. However, we are making some changes to the game and are almost sure to produce a 2nd edition in 2007. |

"we are making some changes” Considering that I finally broke down and got a copy of this game (and it arrived this weekend), all I can say is, “Grrrr....” Posted by Kevin Wood on Dec 4, 2006 at 07:28 AM | #

Saying a new edition “with changes” will be coming out next year wouldn’t get you top marks for Customer Relations, I imagine. Posted by Derek Carver on Dec 5, 2006 at 05:02 AM | #

Well, think of it from their perspective. If you’re going to reprint a game and it turns out there were issues you would like to improve, do you not bother changing them? Posted by Matt J. Carlson on Dec 5, 2006 at 02:54 PM | #

Of course, Matt, it does happen from time to time. But it seems to hardly be good PR to announce the fact just as customers have bought the version that is now going to be ‘improved’ upon. Better to keep quiet about it until it happens I would have thought. Posted by Derek Carver on Dec 6, 2006 at 08:19 AM | #
