Convention Preview News: Age of Empires III - Back on the Schedule
Those of you holding out hope that Age of Empires III will one day see print are in for a pleasant surprise. Pat Braun from Pro Ludo answered a user’s question about the game in a Spielbox forum, and Patrick Korner graciously translated and sent along Braun’s response:
| Pro Ludo will indeed be producing and distributing the European version of Age of Empires III. We are hoping to have a finished prototype ready in time for Nurnberg. With it, we will be continuing the line of Eagle Games - along with a new edition of Civilization among other things. The new Civilization will be published in the middle of March; AoE will be released no sooner than early July, since we are doing the editing ourselves and need to take care of translation as well as avoiding the pitfalls previous titles ran into (see: warping boards, customs charges, unclear translations).
In my opinion, it’s the best game Glenn Drover has ever created. I played it at last year’s New York Toy Fair and am pleased to see this excellent game in our catalog. |
Age of Empires III will be added to the Convention Preview: Nuremberg 2007.

Excellent news! So many people whose opinion I trust were gaga over this game that I really wanted to see it get released. Posted by Larry Levy on Jan 16, 2007 at 06:42 PM | #

Civilization : Is this a reprint or a new game, do you know ? Posted by Olivier Reix on Jan 17, 2007 at 03:15 AM | #

Olivier; I could not tell from the way the answer was worded whether this meant a new printing of the current Civ or a new edition (which would presumably include some edits to clean up the myriad issues with the game). My hope is for the latter - I’ll try and find out. pk Posted by Patrick Korner on Jan 17, 2007 at 01:20 PM | #
