Cosmic Encounter, Coming in November

Fantasy Flight Games has put a date on its new edition of Cosmic Encounter: November 2008.

FFG’s Kevin Wilson is behind the update of this classic game from the 1970s, which will include fifty alien races, each with a unique power, new art and rules, and a color coding for difficulty. (I’m puzzled by the alien fallopian tubes, as seen in the upper middle of the box, but perhaps FFG knows something I don’t.) You control one of those alien races and want to expand your empire to claim colonies on enemy planets, negotiating your way to expansion when possible, attacking when necessary.

This version of Cosmic Encounter, which is for 3-5 players and retails for $50, will include plastic detailed spaceships that stack up to five pieces high. This game has been updated on Gone Cardboard.

Max 5 players? I can already hear the community screaming for an expansion to increase that number!
