Dale Yu: Taking a Break
I’ve just had a really crappy weekend followed by a pretty awful start to the work week. I simply don’t have the time or energy to write anything this week, and I apologize for that. Even if I did, I don’t have the time to write more than this anyways with the hustle and bustle of the holidays. As part of my crappy weekend, I managed to get absolutely nothing done this weekend, and now I have to work double time to get the house ready as well as everything else that needs to get done around here.
So, I apologize for not having something newsworthy, witty or even just interesting to read this week – but it’s just not happening. I’ve tried a few times tonight, and it’s not working. As I hope you can understand, sometimes life just grabs a hold of you and kicks you in the nuts. Then it waits for you to catch your breath and be able to stand up again, and then it kicks you again right in the nuts. With steel toed boots. And that’s me this week.
If it’s any consolation, I didn’t go to BGG.con, so I have no news from you on that front. And I’ve already told you about most of the new Essen games that I have, so nothing there either. And given my current schedule, I haven’t played any new games either. So, I’m taking a one or two week hiatus, and I hope to come back recharged for the holiday stretch. Hopefully by then, I’ll have had enough free time to show you what will occupy every waking moment of my life (and perhaps some of the sleeping moments too) between now and December 6.
Additionally, on a more positive note, I just received a bundle of games in the mail from Bucephalus Games as well as Ko-En Games, so hopefully when the carousel of life slows down and I can get to playing games again, I’ll have at least a half-dozen new games to report on!
So, take a break from the computer - go spend time with your families or friends and enjoy the people close to you. I hope everyone who reads this has a Happy Thanksgiving.
Until your next appointment (or when I get back to writing - hopefully next week!)
