Deadlands Board Game Coming from Twilight Creations
Twilight Creations has announced that it will release a board game version of the Deadlands role-playing game from Pinnacle Entertainment in June 2009. Deadlands, first published in 1996, mixes magic and horror with the Western genre, and the RPG was subsequently spun off into a CCG and a miniatures game. The board game version of Deadlands will be designed by Twilight Creations’ Kerry and Todd Breitenstein, with input from Deadlands creator Shane Hensley.
This game has been added to Gone Cardboard.

Well I like the ideal of a Deadlands boardgame, but with Twilight Creations designing I can’t help but think it’s going to be a rethread of Zombies!!! with a Deadlands themed tacked on to it. Posted by Kerry Harrison on Dec 9, 2008 at 01:01 PM | #

I thought that too. I am fairly confident you are going to be happy with the results. Posted by David Ross on Dec 9, 2008 at 09:58 PM | #

Well, we’ve already had Frag Deadlands (a retread of Frag), Deadlands: Doomtown Range Wars (a retread of Disc Wars), Deadlands: Doomtown (a fairly original CCG), Deadlands: Lost Colony (a not-so-great CCG), and Deadlands: The Great Rail Wars (miniatures rules for the RPG). Hopefully they can break the curve and make a decent game with the franchise. Posted by Matt Fullenwider on Dec 9, 2008 at 10:40 PM | #
