Dominion, Agricola Promos at the Vienna Game Fair

Visitors to Spielefest – the Vienna Games Fair to be held November 28-30, 2008 – will have the chance to pick up small expansions for both Dominion and Agricola.

The Agricola Ö-deck, with “Ö” being short for “Österreich,” is a 24-card deck in which all the cards relate to Austria or items of Austrian heritage. The Styrian Oak pictured, for example, shows a certain Governor of California.

The Dominion promo is a new card called Gesandter ("Envoy" in English). The text is in German and a bit blurry, but I believe that the card allows you to draw five cards, then have an opponent choose and discard one of those cards. This card will be available in packs of eleven: one for the randomizer deck and ten to be used in the game itself.

Ferdinand de Cassan notes that only visitors to the Games Fair will be able to acquire these expansions as no copies will be mailed. Three thousand copies of each expansion will be available, and the terms for acquiring these expansions – which aren’t free – are still being determined. I’ve asked for larger images so that non-Spielefest attending BGN readers can have a better idea of what they’re missing – although I wouldn’t be surprised to see these items turning up in larger numbers in the future.

From Jay Tummelson in this post

Reveal the top 5 cards of your deck. The
player to your left chooses one for you to
discard. Draw the rest.

Jay also mentions in that post that how best to widely distribute this is still being discussed
