Fraser McHarg: Spiel 09 - Sunday Pt 2 of 2 with some bonus Monday

Time for my final Essen post, we are now back from our criss crossing of Germany.  Get a map of Germany and draw lines Essen - Berlin, Berlin - Munich, Munich - Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe - Leipzig and Leiipzig - Wuppertal and it covers a fair percentage and also explains how we have chalked up over 8000km since mid August.

Anyway, since we are back in Wuppertal I have access to my Essen notes…

Shock of the day, according to my notes I didn’t play any games on Sunday.  Although looking back I was involved in a couple of the Geekdo webstream demos, LoCardo and Christmas Penguins - although I am possible out of shot for the benefit of the viewing public ;-)

Some names I missed from last time Valerie, Jackson, Brian and Dale.

Apart from the Essen -> Wuppertal run to make room for family members there was more acquisition of games, hunting down some of those things we had forgotten about or hadn’t got around to yet or just finding that they were already sold out.  There was also saying good bye to friends old and new and trying to keep the children from being squashed by fork lifts after the official closing time.

As mentioned last time, we ended up at a very nice pizza place for dinner that evening.

The next morning we packed the car and left the three or so bags that didn’t fiit at the hotel whilst we drove back to Wuppertal and unloaded.  Then Daughter the Elder and I drove back to the hotel (using the new improved route from K-k-k-ken) and picked up all the games and stuff that didn’t fit on the previous trip.

Readers who have been paying attention will notice that it actually required three car trips back, where as it had only taken us one trip to get there

It was a great experience and I love to go again, I would also love to how how I would be able to afford it!

Next week is BGG.CON and by the time I am due to post next time we will be back in Australia and possibly in no condition to post after 24 hours in a plane with Daughter the Elder and Daughter the Younger :-)
