From the Editor: BGN Membership Rates

Just wanted to post a reminder that the BGN membership rates will increase on January 1, 2010, the same day that the Nuremberg 2010 preview debuts. Anyone who is a BGN member prior to this date will be able to maintain his or her current rate – $25 annually or $5 monthly – whenever they renew, both in 2010 and beyond. Anyone who signs up after January 1, as well as members who let their membership lapse then resubscribe, will need to pay the new membership rates of $50 annually or $25 monthly. More details on why I’m changing the rates in my previous editor’s note.

For people who subscribed very recently, how long does their subscription last?  12 calendar months?

Yes, all subscriptions last one year from the date they start. Since the software running BGN doesn’t have a membership expiration date in the member section, I send out reminder notices by email 1-2 weeks prior to that date.

How exactly do I tell when I my current membership expires.  I think it is sometime in the next few weeks, but I’m not sure.

Eric, how is it going to work for automatic renewal, which I think is how I’m set up?

Nathan, anyone renewing their BGN membership will be charged the $25/year rate.

James, as mentioned above I send out reminder notices when a member’s expiration date is near. You’ll be hearing from me soon…
