From the Editor: Capsule Reviews

I’ve added a new feature to the Reviews section as of today - Capsule Reviews.  These will be shorter reviews - just a few paragraphs - that will give a quick overview of a game plus the reviewer’s take on it.  We are going to kick off the new feature with a review of the upcoming Days of Wonder game Ticket to Ride - Marklin Edition.

Why capsule reviews?  Well, Tom Vasel and Greg Schloesser do yeoman work with their full reviews, and sometimes I felt that any full review that I would write would be too similar to theirs (I’ve often imagined writing a review that simply said - “See Greg Schloesser’s Review").  Writing capsule reviews seemed like something different to try and had the added bonus of not taking up the tremendous amount of time that full reviews take.  This means I’ll have time to do more of them.

Hope you like the new capsule reviews!

Nice! I really like this golden nugget format. I find I often don’t have the patience to get through a whole well done review and tend to read the first and last paragraphs. I always feel guilty though as I know I should have taken the time to read the whole thing. These fit the bill nicely as a guilt free quick read to get just enough to feel excited about a new product.
