From the Editor: New Feature - Ask the Publisher

Since March 2007, Boardgame News has been publishing a (generally) weekly column called “Ask Jay” in which gamers can ask Rio Grande Games head honcho Jay Tummelson questions about his products and policies. Last week, I announced that “Ask Zev” would be added to the site, with Zev Shlasinger from Z-Man Games answering questions as well.

Three more publishers have now signed up for a grilling from BGN readers:

  • Days of Wonder, with Eric Hautemont and Mark Kaufmann
  • Fantasy Flight Games, with Jeremy Stomberg
  • Valley Games, with Kevin Nesbitt
The format for “Ask the Publisher” is still in the works, but before I can publish anything, I’ll need questions from you. You can post questions in the comment section of this post, but a better method would be to write to AskthePublisher@gmail.com and include something in the subject line to help me direct the query.

This is great news! Thanks to these publishers and also to Eric for getting this arranged. Here’s hoping we can get Mayfair to join in - I already have a (short) list of questions for them!

David, you’re going to scare Mayfair away! First, let the company agree to participate, then pull out the giant list…

Thank you to all of the publishers who have signed on to be part of this feature.  It is one of my favorites on BGN and I look forward to hearing from everyone.  Another thanks to Eric for working on getting more publishers signed up for this.

This is such a welcome feature that I had to sign up & also pay for my yearly subscription to BGN. I am so pleased with all aspects of BGN that it is the first place I log on in the mornings to check to see what’s new in the gaming world. I though to myself that as this is such a useful site that $25 is a great investment...and now I’ll be able to access that Essen list - there goes my weekend! :-)

Thanks heaps Eric, keep up the very appreciated work you do.
