From the Editor: One Toy Fair Ends and Another Begins… Plus a Power Grid Expansion
The Nuremberg Toy Fair is over and with that we are finished with our updates to our Nuremberg Preview. Thanks to everyone that contributed, especially the other members of the ‘Game Information Triangle’ - Knut-Michael Wolf of Spielbox in Germany and Erwin Broens of Bordspel in Holland - along with my ace translator Patrick Korner.
With the Nuremberg Toy Fair over our attention shifts to the United States and the New York Toy Fair (actually called the American International Toy Fair, but I’ve never heard anyone call it that!). I’m heading to New York tomorrow to cover the show and will be doing my usual daily updates. The show runs from Sunday, February 12th to Wednesday, February 16th and I’ll be visiting a number of our favorite game companies there to see what’s new and interesting.
While I’m gone, the regular news may or may not get posted depending on how busy the show is and what the Internet situation is. I’ll be back home next Wednesday night so you can expect the regular news to be back on Thursday, February 17th.
One more thing… Jasen Robillard has translated into English the rules for a very cool expansion for Power Grid that was originally published in French. We’ve posted his translation in a new Variants subsection in our Features section. Check it out!
