Gone Cardboard News: 2 de Mayo, Coming from Gen X Games
Iberian publisher and distributor Devir has opened a branch in Seattle, which means that its game releases should be easier for Americans to acquire in the future. España 1936, which covers the Spanish Civil War, was released in the U.S. in May 2008, for example, after coming out in Europe at the end of 2007.

Another title making its way to U.S. shores is Daniel Val’s 2 de Mayo, published by Gen X Games and distributed by Devir. The game covers the 1808 uprising by civilians in Madrid against the French, who were trying to remove the Spanish royal family from the country to eliminate any challenges to its rule. One player controls the French and wins only by eliminating the Spanish forces, controlling all access points to Madrid and not losing too many cubes. The other player, controlling the Spanish, wins if these conditions aren’t reached by the end of the tenth round.
Val has said that 2 de Mayo should be available in the U.S. within a couple of months. This game has been added to Gone Cardboard.
