Gone Cardboard News: Humans!!!, Knizia, and More from Twilight Creations

Twilight Creations has announced a coffinful of new titles for release in 2008, one of which is Humans!!! “This game will be similar to the Zombies!!! game except the players are the zombies trying to infect as many people as possible,” says Kerry Breitenstein, VP of Twilight Creations. “There will be scenarios released with the game in which both the Humans!!! and Zombies!!! games can be played together.” Humans!!! is set for release in July 2008.

Innsmouth Escape, designed by Darrell Hardy and due out in March, pits one human against the Deep Ones. Oh, Cthulhu, why don’t you just hang out on the beach and relax?

Good vs. Evil is the second Reiner Knizia game from Twilight Creations, after 2007’s Gravediggers. No more info is available on this one.

Another release will be a “carnival expansion” for Zombies!!!, aka Zombies!!! 7. No title has been announced yet for the expansion, but I’m looking for a Brain Toss to be somewhere in the mix.

And there’s more Zombies!!! madness coming down the pike. Says Breitenstein, “As a thank you for the support of the fans, Twilight Creations will be launching ‘The Twelve Months of Zombies’ contest. On the first of each month in 2008, a new contest will be announced and the winner will receive a copy of the Zombies!!! base game and all of the expansions. The winners will also have the opportunity to design a card for an upcoming Zombies!!! expansion.”

Yes, more Zombies!!! expansions are guaranteed. Sales of the Zombies!!! base game since its debut in October 2001—not including the German, Spanish, French or Italian versions or any of the expansions—have passed the 100,000 mark. “Zombies!!! sales have continued to increase year after year with no evidence of slowing down,” says Breitenstein. “We have a hard time keeping the game in stock, with some print runs selling out in less than three months.”
