Gone Cardboard News: Kaleidos - A New Edition
Cocktailgames and Ystari Games are working together to bring out a new edition of Kaleidos from designer Spartaco Albertarelli.
Kaleidos, which was on the Spiel des Jahres-recommended list for 1995, plays somewhat like Scattergories with pictures. The game includes twelve illustrations – with artwork in the new edition by Marianna Fulvi and Elena Prette – and each round a random letter is chosen. Players race to write down as many objects in the illustration that start with that letter as possible within the time limit. If someone lists an item not on anyone else’s list, he scores five points for that item; otherwise, he scores one point. The player with the high score after twelve rounds wins.

The Cocktail/Ystari version will naturally be in French, while Z-Man Games and original publisher Editrice Giochi will release Kaleidos in English and Italian, respectively. Kaleidos will be released near the end of 2008. This game has been added to Gone Cardboard.
