Gone Cardboard News: Playroom Entertainment Line Update

Playroom Entertainment has passed along more precise release dates for most of its upcoming releases. First the list, then a few details:

  • Mother Sheep—shipping the week of May 21
  • Cowabunga—shipping in June
  • Unspeakable Words—shipping in June
  • Bull in a China Shop—shipping the end of June
  • Hop to It—July
  • Limits—July
  • Killer Bunnies: Ominous Onyx—August
  • Little Italy—August
  • Portobello Market—August
  • Reality Check—Q4 2007
  • Temple of the Monkey—Q4 2007
  • Sitting Ducks Gallery: Expansion 1—possibly Essen 2007, more likely Nuremberg 2008
Little Italy is a new game from Reiner Knizia for 2-6 players, and Playroom rep Dan Rowen says it has an interesting mix of cooperative and competitive elements.

Portobello Market, unlike most Playroom releases, is a straight German to English port of the Schmidt Spiele game, and it includes the basic and advanced versions of game play. Rowen intriguingly says, “We have a lot of games in development at this time, and [Portobello Market] is a nice bridge” between the current line-up and these future titles. Hmmm.

Playroom is working on the Sitting Ducks Gallery Expansion jointly with Amigo Spiele, which publishes the game in Germany. Gigamic has picked up the game in France, and a Dutch publisher might sign on to the game as well. Playroom has a number of expansions in the works for this game, which might make it the successor to Killer Bunnies; as with that game, the Sitting Ducks expansions introduce new mechanisms and change how the base game is played.

These games have been updated on Gone Cardboard.
