Hannibal Barkas - Coming in English in Spring 2008

Is Poland the new Czech Republic? First came Neuroshima Hex!, making a splash in the original edition from Portal Publishing and coming from Z-Man Games in Summer 2008. Now another well-received Polish game is making the break into English.

Hannibal Barkas, a card-driven wargame for 2-5 players set during the Second Punic War, was released in Poland in October 2007. Reviews have been decent, and in mid-February 2008 the game received almost 60% of the vote for Best Wargame Released in Poland in 2007.

“This all convinced me that I should release an English version,” says designer Robert Źak. “Rules and cards are now being translated into English. I’m discussing with players and printing company the details of particular components. HB will be released in English in Spring 2008.” Details on how to purchase the game will come later.
