Jishaku – The Ultimate Magnet Game?
Games with magnets come, and games with magnets go – which way they move all depends on the strength and direction of the magnet you’re holding. The newest magnet game to be pulled onto the scene is Jishaku, designed by electrical engineer Steve Velte. Jishaku, which is patent pending, consists of 18 unmarked magnetic stones, a bag, and a boxed piece of foam that has hills and valleys. In “I’m Out,” one of three variants, place the magnets turn by turn, collecting any that smash together; the first one out of pieces wins.

I can’t testify to the ultimateness of Jishaku, but if you watch this promotional video, you’ll discover that the game is good at attracting women in revealing attire in bars and at the beach. Or maybe that was the job of the promotional crew. Free drinks, anyone?

Well, it looks and plays like a sort of Rattlesnake… but IMHO Rattlesnake is more fun because you see the other snakes/magnets “move” while you’re trying to make your move. Scary! :) Posted by Silvano Sorrentino on Jun 9, 2008 at 06:47 AM | #
