Mayfair Games and daVinci Part Ways

Mayfair Games’ Robert Carty has issued the following press release:

After a year’s worth of evaluation and negotiation, daVinci Editrice Srl and Mayfair Games, Inc. have agreed to terminate their co-publishing program and part ways. Da Vinci plans to begin publishing and distributing its own English-language products. Mayfair Games wishes them the very best of luck regarding their future endeavors. Should you have any questions concerning the daVinci line, please go to www.davincigames.com.

Update, Aug. 28: Silvano Sorrentino at daVinci has said that information about the distribution of daVinci titles in the U.S. will be announced soon, with the games themselves available within a few months.

If daVinci abandons Mayfair’s price restrictions, then I see this as a good thing.

I, too, was wondering if Mayfair’s pricing didn’t cause daVinci sales to fall not to mention Mayfair’s almost-total devotion to anything Catan.  Could Phalanx be too far behind?

Did I really say “a few months”? Well, let’s say September…
Please read some great news at http://www.davincigames.com , and you’ll discover our new distributor before everyone else.

And they say comments are not useful… ;)
