Media Watch: Classic board games join newer versions at the family table

From The Seattle Times:

When it comes to finding an indoor activity to engage the whole family, something that’s appropriate for all ages and attention spans and doesn’t involve a computer or television, the pickings can be slim.

But for two families in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood, the choice is obvious: board games.

Michael and Linda Adams and their two kids have more than 250 traditional board games — those that require imagination, not technology, for success — around which they gather two to three times a week for family play dates.

Similarly, Louise and Jonathan Franklin and their two kids are die-hard game players, preferring board games to video or computer games.

The article title is baffling as classic board games are mentioned only in passing on the author’s way to describing European games, but in all likelihood the author had nothing to do with the title above her article. In any case, you can see pics of the family homes and read the remainder of the article at The Seattle Times website.
