Micro Mutants Reloaded: competition to create new armies

Blog presents a competition to create new armies of mutants.

Chips plastic stickers, cards and creativity site dedicated to the game launches challenge.

Flyborg, Chitiniani, Sovietopteri, Usartropodi … four armies of insects mutants ready to fight in Micro Mutants: Evolution, the new version of X-Bugs. Players have already imagined their armies of mutants? Some have chosen to do and have created new armies really complete. This is the case of François Pallard (Monsieur F) and Michel Gonzalvez (Spaceturtle), with their Gasterroristi and Myrmyzetechi. Monsieur F and Spaceturtle are part of a group of French players who recently created the blog Micro Mutants Reloaded, dedicated to the game, and that has just launched a competition to choose the best original army of mutants.

François Pallard, a Micro Mutants / X-Bugs player who had already published nearly two years ago on his blog its unofficial army of mutant insects: Gasterroristi. In the following months, was sought by several people who asked him to test or publish their armies, or proposed to work together to create a concept of new army. Then, he thought that with the help of all those who could be further enrich the game with an arsenal more destructive, new armies, new land… Thus was born Micro Mutants Reloaded. Most of the material is published in French, but there is also a section with information in English.

The competition

To take part in the competition, simply download from the site Micro Mutants Reloaded a PDF file with illustrations and instructions for creating texts cards species, the types of chips (small round chips, large round, rectangular) combined with any insect and a description of the three bases of the army and its evolution cards. The material, in English or French, must be sent in paper format (RTF, doc, pdf or more) by 30 June 2008, at .

The jury will be formed by members of Micro Mutants Reloaded and the authors of the game, Francesco Nepitello and Marco Maggi. The army winner will be published on the site and its author will receive home his army, complete with missing illustrations, maps Species, Evolution bases and cards, plus two armies already published on the site (Gasterroristi and Myrmyzetechi), already assembled and ready to play - that is, with stickers applied to the chips and dice, cards printed, glued carton and plastic!

The game

1947, New Mexico: an alien ship crashed in Roswell with its occupants. Too small to be viewed, mutant insects have invaded Earth and are ready to start a war to dominate the planet, but there are land forces able to fight in the same microscopic scale. X-Bugs, the game created by Nepitello and Marco Maggi, brought to the fore the classic game of fleas in a completely new variant, with fun armies formed by insects with different characteristics and special powers, and won players from all over the world .

Recently, X-Bugs is back in a new version, Micro Mutants, which rules most immediate and fun armies reviewed and corrected, more materials like pawns, cardboard cards, and cards that represent the breeds of micro - mutants and their evolutions. The first title of the new series, Micro Mutants: Evolution, is a complete game for 2 to 4 players, and includes four armies of mutant insects: Flyborg, Chitiniani, Sovietopteri and Usartropodi. Future releases will report to the new light version of two other armies known Samuracnidi and Bifidi, accompanied by two new races.
