More Tide of Iron in March 2009; Other FFG Info

Fantasy Flight Games has announced a couple of new releases for March 2009, starting with the Tide of Iron: Map Expansion Pack One, which retails for $30 and bore the following description:

Tide of Iron puts players in thick of WWII. The Tide of Iron Map Upgrade Pack lets players update their original map boards with brand new artwork and enhanced colors. Players can also use these with their existing Tide of Iron boards to create epic level battles.

Also included is the cardboard from the base game with upgraded obstacles such as tank traps, bunkers, and hills, giving players much more flexibility when creating custom scenarios and recreating famous battles.

No photos were included with the press material, so for now you’ll have to use your imagination to determine how enhanced those colors will actually be.

The other game bearing a March 2009 release date is Aye, Dark Overlord, originally published in 2005 by Stratelibri under the title Si, Oscuro Signore. One player is the Overlord, while the others are quivering goblins who try to place the blame for failure of their most recent mission on their comrades. If you turn out to be the best toady, you can avoid the withering glares of the Overlord and win the game.

Other releases in March from FFG include three figure packs for Mutant Chronicles and a Call of Cathulhu Asylum Pack. Many of the release dates for FFG titles have been adjusted based on the latest info from the company. Check out Gone Cardboard for the most current dates.

I’m not understanding this one.  Is it the same boards just with new artwork and colors?  If so, I don’t understand why, as the originals were fine.  Same with the obstacles, etc.  If it were new maps, and new obstacles, I would understand.

Perhaps the main benefit is that you’ll now have twice as many map boards, allowing you to recreate larger battles.
