Musée Mystère – A Secret Faidutti Release
As mentioned this past Friday, all of Bruno Faidutti’s games – along with various prototypes and upcoming titles – will be on display at Musée Français de la Carte for four months starting in late June. What I didn’t mention at the time is that Faidutti has designed a two-player card game, Musée Mystère, especially for the show.
On his webpage for the game, Faidutti says that Musée Mystère is a cousin to Beggar My Neighbor, but one that’s replaced the luck with bluffing. Here’s a translated description of the game play from the museum’s website:
Each player receives a set of twelve identical cards bearing different numbers with which they’ll compete for six objects worth 2-4 points each. The game lasts six turns, with one object up for grabs each turn. Each of the players secretly play one card, reveal it, then play a second card the same way. Whichever player laid the highest total wins the object, and whoever ends up with the highest score wins the game.
Sounds like fans of Pico might like this one as well. In case you don’t happen to visit the town of Issy les Moulineaux before October 19th, you can purchase the game through the Museum’s online store.
