Neuland Returning in New Edition in 2008
Eggertspiele will release a new version of Neuland, codesigned by Tobias Stapelfeldt and Peter Eggert, in 2008—hopefully around the time of the Nuremberg fair in February, according to Stapelfeldt. “Generally it will be the old Neuland,” he says. “We changed some rules to make it more fluent and prevent some blocking situations. The rulebook itself will be completely rewritten. For the new illustration and the layout, we have Klemens Franz, the illustrator of Agricola. Every building will have its own picture, so the game will in no way have the old abstract look of the first edition.”

Seriously cool. I’m sticking to my old copy, though, because deviant as I am, I actually really like the old art. Posted by Mikko Saari on Dec 22, 2007 at 07:48 AM | #

I hope the rules changes that are made are included as “variants”. I’m certain that they will include something for the “end game lock-up” that some players perceive. I personally like the game as is, though I will probably grab another copy :) Posted by Dave Kudzma on Dec 22, 2007 at 12:54 PM | #
