New Games from StrataMax at Origins
StrataMax is releasing “two-and-a-half” new games at Origins next week, according to the SM press release. Here are short descriptions for these games:
- In Churchill and the Glorious Revolution, players are challenged by “uncertain times, unpopular kings and opportunistic rebellions” in this two hour game for 3-5 players. Aaron Lauster, who also released Wampanoag and Iroquoia: The Beaver Wars through StrataMax, is the designer.
- Lauster’s Legend of the Flying Canoe, co-designed with Max Michael and originally released in 2004, is the half-new game. The second edition of this title eliminates the “Canadian winter turn” while streamlining the game play and improving the bits. Legend of the Flying Canoe is for 2-5 players with a playing time of about 90 minutes.
- Cheshire Ring, set in a British canal network, is an hour-long game for 3-5 players in which they manage canal boats and toll houses while trying to collect the most money. From the press release: “The tolls paid to other players are based on the value of the cargo. ‘Enterprising’ boatmen of the period found ways to pay less than the required amount. Just how honest are you?”
These games have been added to Gone Cardboard.
