Pit – New Version from Repos Production
Thomas Provoost and Cedrick Caumont at Repos Production always put a fun spin on their games, and in case you need an example beyond Ca$h’n Gun$ and the ever-present sombreros, here’s a look at Repos’ new edition of Pit:

Instead of the traditional flax, wheat and hay, you’re now trading different types of cows. The goal of the game remains the same: Yell really loud for minutes on end. Oh, and collect all nine cards of one item by trading cards with other players. For those who haven’t played, here’s the one sentence summary: Trade your randomly dealt cards blindly with other players as quickly as possible by yelling out how many cards you’re willing to trade and trading equally with others.
In the Repos edition – which unfortunately won’t be available in the U.S. – the game lasts eight rounds or until someone scores 200 points. The winner of each round can choose a variant way to play in the subsequent round, such as the Spanish cow (in which you yell “uno, dos, tres” instead of your native tongue or the coffee cow (with one = beer, two = coffee, three = tequila, and four = Champagne). As Provoost notes, “Each time a player reaches 100 points, the next round is silent.” No word yet on whether the bell that you hit to end the round moos instead of ringing.

I hope they don’t go for their usual box, which is like an oversized tuck box, and not sturdy at all. Posted by Surya Van Lierde on May 28, 2008 at 03:58 AM | #

From the size it looks a little like the Santy Anno box - which is at the other end of the spectrum. Tactical nuclear devices could not harm that box… pk Posted by Patrick Korner on May 29, 2008 at 12:23 AM | #
