Playroom Entertainment Update for Ilium, More
Dan Rowen, president of Playroom Entertainment, says that the company has suffered a few setbacks in releasing its roster of new games for 2008, but those troubles are now in the past. As such, here’s Playroom’s current release schedule:
- Killer Bunnies and the Journey to Jupiter and Reiner Knizia’s Ilium should both make their debut in mid-August at Gen Con, with copies reaching stores by the end of the month.
- Baker’s Dozen (a re-themed version of Knizia’s Poison), Pick a Paint and Time After Time should all appear in September.
- Secrets of the Sea is scheduled for early October 2008.
- Macau (an English version of Maureen Hiron’s Mr. Kongo) and Where the Buffalo Roam are both due sometime in Q4 2008.
- Aaron Watson’s Temple of the Monkey is still on hold, but the game’s innards have been licensed to Toy Vault for the publication of The Princess Bride: Storming the Castle, which is already available. Says Rowen, ”Temple of the Monkey uses a similar mechanic in a series of games, but The Princess Bride is the only version of the game for now.”
