QWG Games Announces 2009 Line-up
Dutch publishing amalgamation QWG Games has announced part of its 2009 line-up on its news page, and while most of the titles listed will be familiar to BGN regulars – Kingsburg plus the expansion, Genoa (the new version of which is being prepared by Filosofia), Pandemic (conquering the world like a real plague), Space Alert (still no word on U.S. distribution), Galaxy Trucker: The Big Expansion, Metropolys – one new title was slipped in at the bottom: Martinique. No word on what this game is, but I hope it’s about me.

At the Dutch Spellenspektakel QWG announced a new game of Emanuelle Ornella (Oltre Mare, Il Principe, Hermagor). It’s probably this one. Posted by Olav Fakkeldij on Nov 21, 2008 at 03:50 AM | #

All I know about Martinique is that it’s a project of QWG, I guess it’ll be in 4 languages again. Posted by Surya Van Lierde on Nov 21, 2008 at 04:15 AM | #

The real question is, if the game would be about you, Eric, what kind of game would it be? Abstract strategy? Take-that? Long rule-book? Posted by Jeff Allers on Nov 21, 2008 at 09:29 AM | #

It would be a game about writing, board games and electronic music, among other things :) Posted by Surya Van Lierde on Nov 21, 2008 at 09:41 AM | #

Probably something like Calvinball – although anything similar to Calvinball would almost by definition be Calvinball given the looseness of its rules. The game would include potentials along the lines of Project GIPF, but they would shunt you into making art out of found objects or holding a brownie-making contest. That’s what this industry needs: More games about dada. Strike that – any games about dada. Eric Posted by W. Eric Martin on Nov 21, 2008 at 10:25 AM | #
