QWG Games Unpeels Three Titles for Spiel 08

Dutch publisher QWG Games has announced three new titles for release at Spiel 08. One of those games, Cavum, a new title from the reliable designing duo of Kramer and Kiesling, was covered in an earlier news item. The other two titles are Bloom and Boss Kito.

Bloom, by Laurent Escoffier and David Franck, was one of the winners of the 2006 Concours International de Créateurs de Jeux de
Société. Players are gardeners trying to bring bright and diverse bouquets to market, but their efforts are hampered because they grow only a few types of flowers themselves. Rather than increase the size of their own spread, however, they resort to picking peonies from others. Pluck well from other’s gardens without being picked clean yourself, and you’ll come out smelling sweet. Bloom is for 2-5 players, plays in 60 minutes and will sell for €24 at Spiel.

Boss Kito is both a card game from Michael Schacht and a giant silverback gorilla who runs Gorilla Island. Your job, as a lesser gorilla, is to keep Boss Kito happy by plying him with bananas, but sadist that he is, he forces everyone to make bids to win the right to feed him. Boss Kito is for 3-5 players, plays in 45 minutes and will sell for €12 at Spiel.

As for new entries in QWG’s Master Print Series, the company has said that games #5 and 6 will appear in 2009, although what those games will be remains a secret for now.
