QWG to Release League of Six, More…

The two-headed Dutch hydra known as QWG—with White Goblin Games as one head and Quined Games as the other—will release League of Six in 2008, in addition to the previously announced titles Caylus Magna Carta and Age of Empires III.

QWG has also mentioned that it will add two titles to its Master Print Series, release a “beautiful family game” to start a new QWG family line, publish a number of strategy games, and birth a two-player line.

This is good news, as it can only make League of Six more available worldwide. Yet I have to ask: why hasn’t a U.S. publisher picked up this fine game? It deserves a wide release. Or is manufactured scarcity part of the Czech game industry’s business plan?

I agree with Roger, why hasn’t a US publisher picked up this game?  I keep looking here and BGG for some positive news.

CGE printed fewer copies of Galaxy Trucker than League of Six, so while the leftover GT are making their way into the U.S. distribution system—courtesy of Rio Grande, which plans to have the game available in March—there were only a few League of Six left after Spiel 07, and they were picked up by online retailers. CGE is considering what to do about future printings.

Both of these games should be picked up as soon as possible. I find both of them to be really good games, although in completely different ways. Lo6 is a good thinking game while GT is just plain fun.
