Serpentine Crawls Out of Nova Carta
Dutch publisher Nova Carta has released Serpentine, a game for 2-4 players, ages 7 and up, from Martin Samuel and Fred Horn.
In Serpentine, players take turns placing tokens, which have an elbow on one side and a straight connection on the other. In the easiest level, you just place tokens bing bang boom; at the next level, you can also choose to rotate or invert an opponent’s token (without breaking his streamer) or move one of yours; at the most involved level of play, you (1) place a token, (2) move an opponent’s token without changing its orientation, and (3) move, rotate or invert one of your own tokens. After all the spaces on the board have been filled, whoever has the longest continuous streamer wins.
