The Dice Tower: Episode 39 - Top Ten Racing Games and Block Wargames
By Tom Vasel and Joe Steadman
February 22, 2006
And even though it’s a bit late, another episode of The Dice Tower!
In this episode, we review Darter and Twilight Struggle, and are joined once again by our good friend Sam Healey. We have the usual board game news both from Rick Thornquist and Moritz Eggert, and continue our triple-prize contest. We debate Age of Steam vs. Railroad Tycoon, and discuss which is more important - the game or the player? To top everything off, we mention Tom’s top ten racing games, and Joe’s top ten block wargames. We have the show available in the MP3 format. You can download the file to your computer by right-clicking on the link and selecting ‘Save As’.

Good choice of Odin’s Ravens as one of your Top Ten race games, Tom. I usually don’t think of that as a race game, but it certainly qualifies and it’s a very good design. Hare & Tortoise still tops my own very short list (racing games being one of my least favorite genres). Posted by Larry Levy on Feb 23, 2006 at 09:18 AM | #
