The Game Table: News and Notes from the GAMA Trade Show
By Ward Batty
I had the pleasure of attending the GTS (GAMA Trade Show) in Las Vegas last week. This is a trade show of game store retailers, distributors and publishers. While most of the games are for what I’d call the hobby-game market such as role-playing games and collectible card games, boardgames are increasing each year and a number of publishers were there with new and upcoming releases. Here are my highlights of upcoming releases.

Another fine article, Wardo--I hope people around the country are enjoying the series. I do want to note one error, before what began as an innocent typo gets further reported as fact. The name of Immortal Eyes’ Pangea-based game is in fact “Conquest of Pangea”, not Pengea. I suspect the source of this error is a typo that Rick made when he first reported about the game in his GAMA report. (Then again, since you were both at the show, IE could have fed you incorrect information.) In the photo Rick took of the IE game (labeled, alas, Conquest in Paradise), the box clearly shows that the title includes the word “Pangea”. I’m very curious about this game, as I’m hoping it might be the first meaty Orbanes design since the halcyon days of Gamut of Games. Posted by Larry Levy on Mar 22, 2006 at 10:03 AM | #

Thanks for the comment and the correction. Both papers that carry the column carry it online, so I was able to revise it with the correct spelling. This is probably just Rick’s sly way of catching folks copying over his shoulder. I also blame Immortal Eye for not having a website up yet. Finally, I blame society.
