Tom Vasel:  Meeple Pillows

I finally got a chance to play Command and Colors: Ancients - and it’s quite good.  I’m not sure how much I enjoy the extra complications yet - I’ll have to play it several more times.

Since last week, I posted a contest right when BGN crashed, and since no one has sent me an answer that has more than three correct guesses, I thought that I would run this contest one more week.  Twenty geekgold for the winner!

A recap:  Here are the list of designers, a game they’re known for, and a list of their favorite games.
The person who matches the most gets twenty Geekgold!

1. Gordon Lamont (Shear Panic)
2. Franz Vohwinkel (illustrator of many games)
3. Richard Breese (Keythedral)
4. Francesco Nepitello (War of the Ring)
5. Reinhard Staupe (David and Goliath)
6. Wolfgang Kramer (Torres)
7. Benno Delonge (Transamerica)
8. Bruno Faidutti (Citadels)
9. Anye Sellers (FraudSquad)
10. Mike Fitzgerald (Wyatt Earp)
11. Jim Doherty (Monkeys on the Moon)
12. Alan Moon (Ticket to Ride)
13. Ted Racier (Paths of Glory)

Okay, other than that, I’m feeling under the weather today, so my blog will thus be short.

I was looking at www.meeplepeople.com, the folks who decided that there is someone out there crazy enough to buy something with a “Real men play board games” on it, and saw the marvelous meeple pillows that they have there.  Now, I can’t afford them myself, but a man can dream, right?  It got me thinking of other ways I could decorate the house if my wife would suddenly go insane and allow me this opportunity.

I could make a walkway to the house with gravel scattered tastefully around large walking stones.  Except I would use dice instead of gravel.

I would put up large game box artwork all over the house.

The kitchen table would have a game or two built into it.

All the handles of my dressers would be pawns.

Meeples would decorate the walls.

Okay, I have more ideas - but at this point my wife is reminding me that we have a child coming into the world any day now, and she doesn’t want Clara to be born into the house of a crazy man.

So folks, my apologies for a short, uneventful blog, but I’d like to claim sickness and an upcoming baby (any day now!) as my excuses.

At least you can ponder over the contest, right?

And for those of you who might have seen my puzzle geeklist at BGG, keep an eye out - another might appear this week. (unless the baby shows up)
