Two Game Designer Events from Protospiel West
Protospiel West is holding two events for game designers over the next six weeks. First, at Orccon 2008 in Los Angeles, is a talk by Steve Jackson on February 17 from 5-7pm. Jackson will talk about what it takes to create a successful game and get it published. A pair of three-hour playtesting sessions takes place earlier in the day; if you want to have one of your games considered for playtesting—or you just like test-driving games—write to Travis Ball for details. Note that if your game is chosen, you need to playtest someone else’s game in return.
The second event takes place at GameStorm in late March. On Saturday, March 29, Rio Grande’s Jay Tummelson will give a keynote address at 2pm, then participate in a meet-and-pitch session from 3-6pm. Playtesting sessions will take place throughout the event; see the Protospiel West March events page for times.
