Want to Be on TV Playing Games?

The message below was posted on one of the mailing lists I’m on, and I thought I’d pass it on to the gaming community at large in case anyone has aspirations of starring in a television commercial:

Compulsive Pictures is a production company working with Hasbro and their advertising agency Uproar! to create a new TV commercial for the game Cranium featuring real players and real video footage. As a game player on Yahoo groups we thought you might be interested.

The idea is this: we are looking for people over age 21, to post a short clip of themselves and their friends playing Cranium or charades so we can get an idea of how creative and fun your group can be when you play. We will select the best 40 submissions and send a package containing a new Cranium game, an HD Flip Video camera, a memory stick and assorted snacks. Get your group together again, play Cranium and video the fun on the new HD camera. Send us the footage, you keep the camera and we will send each of the players in your group (max 8) $100.

The new Cranium TV commercial will be cut using the footage we receive. Each person featured in the final cut that shows on TV will also receive a payment of $1000.00.

Interested? Please e-mail our Project coordinator Jason at jason@compulsivepictures.com

I’m mostly curious about the “assorted snacks” – whatever could they be sending out to gamers?

We submitted this video for the Cranium commercial contest. We did a two shoot day with a group of our friends playing four different types of Cranium games (Party Playoff, Cranium WOW, Cranium Turbo Edition, and Pop 5). Our favorite was Pop 5 surprisingly since it was the only we hadn’t played till then. We got selected so they just sent us a “care package.” In it was a new Flip UltraHD camera, 2 8 GB memory cards, cups, paperwork, a new Cranium game, and a $100 giftcard for snacks. So now we have to film ourselves playing the new Cranium game with the Flip and turn in one of the memory cards back to them. We each get $100 bucks once they receive all the paperwork and memory card. If any of us get selected for their commercial then each person selected would receive an additional $1000. I wanted to show how much fun board games can be. There is a different world out there from monopoly and scrabble that people have no idea about. We had a blast making this so I hope you all ENJOY!
