Winners of Mensa Mind Games 2007

The five winners of the 2007 Mensa Select label have been announced:

  • Gemlok (Pywacket)
  • Gheos (Z-Man Games)
  • Hit or Miss (Gamewright)
  • Qwirkle (MindWare)
  • Skullduggery (Outset Media)
Fifty-nine games were played and rated by 210 members of American Mensa. Zev Shlasinger says, “Z-Man Games is proud to announce that Gheos is a Mensa Select winner for 2007. We’d also like to thank all the people who have made Gheos the game it is and we’d like to thank the players for enjoying the game.”

“After I found out about the award, I couldn’t sit still the rest of the day,” says Susan McKinley Ross, designer of Qwirkle. “I was too excited.”

Gamewright’s Jason Schneider added this message: “I was so flattered to hear the news. I’m always surprised by what the Mensa players select and was thrilled to be among the top five this year. I think Hit or Miss appealed to the party game players because it’s easy to teach, yet offers some nice brain challenge along with good replay value.”
