Paid entries? That’s ridiculous!

I also can’t find a list of the 54 games that were entered. The Mensa site has info about the 2007 Mind Games and is already announcing the 2009 verison, but there is no list of anything but the winners for 2008.

Paul, it usually takes a while before all the entries are listed on the Mensa site. You can also look for Wei-Hwa Huang’s commentary on all the games in a few weeks, if he sticks to his annual habit. He typically posts a link of Spielfrieks and other gaming fora.

Did you play “pixel” and “tiki topple”? in your opinion which one between “pixel” and “tiki topple” is better ?

Michel, I’ve played Pixel three times and found it okay, although it seems like the game might have turn order issues. (I’ve held off on reviewing Pixel until I can play more times, as I want to be able to back up my thoughts.) I just received Tiki Topple and hope to play soon.

Wei-Hwa has now posted his impressions of the Mensa crop of 2008: http://ofb.net/~whuang/gp/mmg2008/ His summary: “This seemed to be the year where abstract games dominated and party games almost disappeared, along with the more story-oriented strategy games. Overall, the average quality of games seemed to go down; I gave out only one ‘fun factor’ rating of 9, and everything else was lower.”
