Wolsung: The Boardgame, Coming from Kuznia Gier

Wolsung: The Boardgame, designed by Michal Stachyra and Maciej Zasowski, is a steampunk fantasy that features humans, elves and trolls mixing it up in a world that features steam golems and iron dragons, among other technological marvels. The game is an outgrowth of the Wolsung RPG, also to be published by Kuznia Gier and designed by Artur Ganszyniec and Maciej Sabat.

In the board game, the players are inventors and industrialists, who are trying to obtain the raw materials needed to construct paramobiles, golems and airships in order to win the title of best designer at the World’s Fair. To build the best and most original machines, however, you’ll have to compete against others for both the plans and the components. In addition to the cards, tokens and markers, Wolsung: The Boardgame includes a “surprise gadget” that’s key to the game mechanisms. I’m going to take a wild stab here and guess thumbtack shooter…

Nice artwork, and I’m glad it’s a building game off course :)

I love Steampunk. The artwork looks pretty cool. Can’t wait to see the components.

Heh someone made a mistake translating press release to English. RPG designers’ names are inflected: These should be Artur Ganszyniec [something like Gahnsheeneetz] and Maciej Sabat :)

That would be me, Lukasz. I took Russian a few years ago, but forgot about watching for declensions, even though the “a"s on everything should have been a big tipoff!

Complete offtopic: Polish and Russian grammars are quite similar, although IMO Polish is much more flexible being a lot more tolerant for bad pronunciation :) (you are not supposed to “sing” it like Russian).

Anyway, we’re still waiting for more details about Wolsung boardgame (which is pretty new in opposition to its background and role-playing game being developed for years). You may note that Neuroshima Hex is also based on RPG.
