Gone Cardboard News: Axis & Allies: Guadalcanal - Coming from Avalon Hill
Avalon Hill has announced a new game for the fall of 2007—but perhaps “announced” isn’t the right word since the title isn’t mentioned on the front page of the AH website, the news archives, or the list of AH games. No, instead the announcement is buried in the AH forums. In any case, Axis & Allies: Guadalcanal is lined up for a September release with Larry Harris in charge of the design. Here’s the description from that forum post:
| A sweeping conflict in the South Pacific where naval might leads to air superiority. Axis and Allies: Guadacanal challenges you to control sea zones and island groups while managing trooop and supply transport and directing land, sea, and air forces in one of the decisive campaigns of the Second World War’s Pacific Theater.
* Incorporates crucial elements that were key factors in the historical campaign, such as air strip construction, troop and supply transport, and furious land, sea, and air battles.

I think you guys needed to dig a bit deeper. The announcement was made in the product release schedule page (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=ah/aam/ah20070328c)
But if you want to track Axis & Allies happenings just add the feed from http://www.axisandallies.org to you RSS reader and you’ll have all of the latest news without having to dig for it in the AH forums. Posted by David Jensen on Apr 23, 2007 at 03:07 PM | #

Yeah, I know how that goes, I miss a bunch of stuff too. In fact, back in 2005 I found out about A&A Minis months after the announcement and only a few weeks before they came out. I try to stay on top of things more now-a-days. Sorry if the tone was harsh, I tried to edit out the edge but failed. With the A&A feed you might have to self filter out some of the strategy articles but it should be obvious by the story headlines. Posted by David Jensen on Apr 23, 2007 at 05:38 PM | #
